DAVID- A MAN AFTER GOD’S HEART
1 SAMUEL
16 – 14
In this
series, we shall be dealing with the study of how David became a man after
God’s heart. What qualifies him to be regarded as such. We shall take an in depth study into his
attitude, character, and personalities, mindset etc. we shall also deal with
His gifting and service for GOD.
1. GOD’S
REJECTION OF SAUL: 1 Sam 15:1-3. 12-23, I Sam 16:1, I Sam 15:30, James 4:6
God gave
Saul an instruction through Prophet Samuel but Saul partially obeyed the instruction.
He moved from disobedience to pride, and
rebellion. Thus, the LORD rejected Him. When you reject his word, you
are rejected from reigning.
2. GOD’
PROVISION AS DAVID: 1 SAM 16-3
God is a
God of purpose, plan and objectivity. He has a purpose for the people of Israel,
and he needed provision for the accomplish His purpose. Saul has failed, and he
find a good/better replacement in David as His provision in fulfilling his
vision/ purpose for Israel. GOD has
various purposes in the church and for and he is looking for provision to
accomplish these purposes.
3. GOD’S
METHOD OF CHOOSING HIS PROVISION: 1 SAM 16:4-23
God does
not choose by sight or appearance but by looking at the heart. He look at the
thoughts and intentions. He looks into your being.
