FATHERHOOD
When
God lead you to follow a man of God, it is mandatory and important for you to
receive him as a father e.g E.g. Elijah and Elisha, Moses and Joshua. You must
see him as a father effortlessly and naturally.
Part

There
is need for you to understand the teaching of fatherhood, and in this section
we shall be considering biblical truth about this subject.
1. You don’t have many
fathers: 1cor 4:15. The gift of ‘Father’s is a rare gift. Not every man of God
is a father. Not everyone who teaches or preaches well is a father. in your
life, you will have so many instructors but very few fathers.
a. A father has the
ability to produce after his own kind. This has nothing to do with old age.
b. A father input is
comprehensive, that is a total package that cares about you.
c. A father has a
higher grace of fatherhood that involves patience.
d. A father has a
heart love. True fatherhood is a manifestation of God’s love. It takes love to
bring up people.
e. A father exercises
great discipline, thus he is able to train and bring up sons and daughters.
2. Not every man of
God is a Father. 1KG 19:15-16.
You need to understand that not all men of
God are fathers. Men of God with the cloak of fatherhood are few. Fatherhood
has an extra dimension of love and patience.
a. A father has the
ability to produce sons and daughters e.g. Elijah produce Elisha, but Elisha
produces no one. 2KG 5:25-27.2:23.
b. szFathers have
large heart of love and forgiveness. 1KG 19:15-16, 2KG2:23-25.
c. A father provides
for his children. He provides instructions, teachings, directions, guidance and
protections for his children. He provides for the need of his children.
3. Receive your man of
God as a father and not as instructors. MAT 21:36-37. It is God who gives
fathers. And you must learn to receive the father God sent into your life, and
this involves receiving his total ministry. God judges us the way we relate the
people He sends to us (FATHER).
